Lancaster County Drug Operation Leads To Two Arrests, Multiple Charges

LANCASTER, SC — Lancaster County Sheriff’s deputies arrested two suspects on multiple drug related charges after executing a search warrant at their home early Friday morning.

The warrant was served on a home at 239 South Avenue. LCSO SWAT team members encountered Lareckius Price and Sherica Rushing, both 29, upon entering the home.

Officials say Price fired a single gunshot through his bedroom door at SWAT team members, but no one was injured. Deputies say the gun jammed before Price could fire another shot.

Price and Rushing were taken into custody without further incident.

Three children were also found inside the home, deputies say, and were removed by a family member. The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office says DSS has been notified.

Deputies searched the home and say they found found 15.2 grams of cocaine, 44.27 grams of crack cocaine, 15.8 grams of marijuana, 1,090 Oxycodone pills, two handguns, one rifle, one shotgun, $5,973 in cash, and multiple items of drug paraphernalia including scales and a video surveillance system.

Price and Rushing are each charged with Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Violent Crime, Trafficking Crack Cocaine, Trafficking Cocaine, Trafficking Schedule II Oxycodone, Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana within the Proximity of a Park, Possession with Intent to Distribute Crack Cocaine within the Proximity of a Park, Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine within the Proximity of a Park and Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule II Narcotic within the Proximity of a Park.

Price is additionally charged with nine counts of Attempted Murder, Unlawful Neglect of a Child and Possession of Stolen Handgun.
